MUSICIANS
The LGB has over 55 volunteer musicians on the roster, but we're always
looking for more! The best thing about this band, for those who don't have a
lot of time, is that you don't have to perform at every gig. You decide
which performances you are available for, and we'll try to schedule you for
the performances you want. We welcome musicians in all sections of a
standard concert band, plus accordions.
We're a very casual organization musically, so feel free to drop by band
practice and just hang out for a while. We won't ask you to play in public
before you're ready. We know what it is like to pick up a horn that's been
in the attic for the last 5-10-15-20 years and try to get a sound out of it.
You don't have to play a note to benefit from band practice! Please show up
if you are at all interested!

The LGB&D is an all-volunteer organization. We don't charge dues or fees to
be a member, either. We do require new members to buy a costume eventually,
but you won't need one right away and financial assistance is available if
you need it. Financial assistance is also available to help you buy a new
instrument or refurbish an old one. In some cases (drums, tuba, baritone)
the band owns instruments that you can borrow.
If you're still not sure if this is right for you, check out the
LGB Photo Page to get a good
idea of how much fun it can be to play in the Little German Band!
